Microsoft Access Development Platform

The posts on this Blog usually address issues related to Human Resources and Human Resource Information Systems. Since our product, the HR Data Manager (http://www.hrdatamanager.com/) is written in Microsoft Access, today I will be talking about the benefits of Access as a Development platform. The reason this is important is that our Enterprise and Enterprise Plus Edition’s come with all source code and can be easily modified to meet specific requirements. The majority of our customers are interested in this making the Access Development platform an important discussion.

Microsoft Access is available as part of the Microsoft Office Professional suite and is the number one desktop database platform in the world today. The great news is that there is a strong possibility that your company already owns Access as part of their Office Suite.

Microsoft Access allows rapid development of Relational Database applications. One difference between Access and many other platforms is that the backend database components and front end user interface components are both created within the same application. Access uses VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) as its programming language. VBA is a powerful language allowing a higher level of programming power than is available in other desktop database tools.

Access easily integrates with other members of the Office family adding to the power of applications created with it. Data can easily be exported from Access to Excel and Word.

Microsoft Access provides a platform to develop quality applications while allowing development to be performed in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost of most other available platforms.

The HR Data Manager, written in Microsoft Access, can easily be customized to meet your specific needs. Check out the Free Trial today at http://www.hrdatamanager.com/
